Cast bronze hexagonal shaft 'chessman' seal matrix with quatrefoil pierced suspension; the circular face depicting a foliage spray to each side the arms of Themericourt, consisting of three chevrons with mullet cadence mark in the upper left corner and below a crested helm showing a female head with long flowing hair; the Roman letter inscription reading RENART: DE: TEMERICOURT. -

A large cast bronze vesica-shaped seal matrix with the design of an ornate crowned royal armorial with supporters above the inscription in seriffed capitals OFFICIA/LITAT/ARCNNAT/NOT (by authority of the office of the archdeaconry of Nottingham); to the border the inscription SIGILLUM:REGIE:MAIESTIE:AD.CAVSAS: ECCLESIASTIC[A]S (seal of His Majesty the King for church matters); the reverse with deep, pierced rib. -

A cast bronze vesica-shaped seal matrix with central panel depicting a facing bust within a lancet arch with spires, above an armorial shield with two lions passant and a quarter with a lion rampant within a tressy border; around the border the inscription S' G.MATI.DEO/DE SABOLIO*; perforated suspension lug to the reverse; supplied with an impression of the seal. -

A cast lead educational aid, similar to the medieval hornbook, formed as a plate with corner knops and handle; on the face, the alphabet in a mix of upper and lower case forms; on the handle, the initials LB and numerals 29; below the handle a circular feature resembling a clock face. -

Circa 11th century AD. An iron hand-forged sword with Type X pommel and lenticular square-section crossguard; the blade gently tapering with shallow fuller, the piled construction visible in the core and three inlaid brass crosses potent below the hilt. -
Medieval Tournament Hand-and-a-Half Sword

Circa 1350-1400 AD. A hand-forged steel sword of hand-and-a-half type, with flat-section disc pommel and cross pattee quillons; to one face of the blade, an inlaid brass sigil of the globus cruciger; the blade narrow, lozenge-section and relatively flat; the quillons elliptical in section; the tang flat with traces of the grip remaining; the blade unsharpened, implying a tournament piece. -

Circa 14th century AD. A long sword with hand-forged iron blade, disc pommel of Oakeshott's type H, round-section quillons of type 2; the blade narrow with shallow fuller for most of its length. -

Circa late 13th-early 14th century AD. A hand-forged hand-and-a-half sword of Type XIIIa with facetted Type J wheel pommel, and round-section quillons; to the upper blade, a latten inlaid Arabic inscription 'Mohammed is the Messenger of Allah'; the blade narrow with shallow fuller for about one third of its length. -

A cast bronze sword pommel of discoid form with inlaid enamel detail: to one flat face a fleur-de-lys with vinescroll extensions, and to the other a heater shield charged with a bend, with flanking scrolled panels; to each shoulder of the curved faces a heater shield with hatched detail; a rectangular socket to the centre of the lower face to accept the tang. -

Medieval Milanese Steel Barbute

Circa 15th century AD. A steel helmet raised from a single sheet extending from the crown of the head to the neckline and cheeks; formed with a median ridge from the nape across the top of the head; the edge returned to form a thickened rim; the face opening of characteristic T-shape; a row of holes inserted around the brow to nape, with two additional holes beneath at the ears, to accept attachment rivets for the padded leather lining; to the right rear, an armourer's mark. -
