A necklace comprising six hollow gold beads fashioned as ridged hemispheres with attached palmette details, including fine filigree work, three on each side of the clasp; interspersed with elaborate lanceolate beads with raised grid patterning and extremely fine granulation detailing, with biconical loops; translucent pale glass spacer beads; the main body of the necklace comprising narrow biconical gold beads with repousse loop patterning, interspersed with finely detailed hollow circular repousse beads fashioned as lions' heads, with similar glass spacers; restrung with modern clasp; with two additional beads, unstrung. -

Anglo-Saxon Gilt Bronze Great Square-Headed Brooch

An elaborate great square-headed brooch of Hines's Group XIII; the headplate trapezoidal, with three concentric rectangles to the interior; the innermost rectangle is formed as a raised panel with bevelled edges; the second decorated with punched pellets along the lower, lateral and upper edges, surrounded by a meander pattern; the outermost with punched pellets along the lower, lateral and upper edges; the rectangular corner panels with punchmarks formed as roundels each with a bifurcated extension; the bow with substantial median and lateral ribs extending to two curved animal-head upper extensions above a cruciform footplate, each with two circular piercings; to the reverse, the catchplate present; significant gilding remaining. -
Medieval Bronze 'Cardinal Pedro Gonzalez de Mendoza' Seal Matrix

A substantial cast heraldic seal matrix, discoid in plan, with concentric ropework lines to the reverse and one similar to the 7mm edge; to the obverse, a heraldic design of a heater shield divided diagonally with hatched panels and the text 'AVE' and 'MAR' (for 'Maria'), surmounted by a cardinal's hat with looped ornamental cords with tassels to the sides; above the shield a Spanish marques's coronet, below it, scrolled feathers and punched-point detail; surrounding the whole a circular band interrupted by the crown of the hat bearing the text in seriffed capitals 'PETRUS GONZALEZ DE MENDOZA CARDINALIS HISPANIAE' for Cardinal Pedro Gonzalez de Mendoza of Spain. We have been advised that Mr. Miguel F. Gómez Vozmediano, Chief of References of the Historical File of the Nobility in Spain, and a team of experts of the University Complutense of Madrid, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Information Science, Mr. José María de Francisco Olmos have examined the piece physically, they have concluded that the piece is genuine of the XV century and it is possibly a seal matrix for private use of the Cardinal Pedro González de Mendoza. -

An important circular cast silver personal heraldic seal matrix with raised rib and suspension loop to reverse; the central area bearing a shield of arms divided per fess on a cross-hatched background with Lombardic letter '*S SICILIE:DE:ASK.[foliage]' inscription; which can be transcribed for 'the seal of Cicely (or Cecily) of Usk'. -
