A red-figure ceramic bell krater with pedestal base, bell-shaped body and broad everted rim; two round-section handles; the rim with red rings to the interior and a band of laurel leaves to the underside of the exterior; the body with the head of a lady of fashion to one side, facing left, her hair dressed in a ribboned sakkos with stephane; to the other side the head of a lady of fashion facing left, her hair dressed in a ribboned sakkos with stephane.
PROVENANCE:
From an important Austrian collection; acquired in the early 1980s.
