(1.50 grams.).

924-939 AD. Obv: rosette of pellets at centre with +EDELSTANREXTOBR legend and additional pellet below the 'O'. Rev: +CNADM-OLEGECT legend with additional pellet below the first 'E' of the mint signature for the moneyer C(e)napa at the mint of Chester (Leigeceastre). The dies not represented in EMC/SCBI. Rare. Very fine and better.

The moneyer spelling form is seen on four Chester coins in EMC/SCBI (cf. EMC 1034.0050 & SCBI 35,50). There are a total of eight coins listed in EMC for this moneyer (four of rosette type and four of cross type or combination).
