Description:
Circa 450 AD. Marcian, AV Solidus. Constantinople. Obv: DN MARCIA-NVS PF AVG, diademed (with ornament), helmeted and cuirassed three-quarter facing bust, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman. Rev: VICTORI-A AVGGG Gamma, Victory standing left, holding long jewelled cross. Star in right field; mintmark CONOB in exergue.
Measurements:
Gold, 6.56 grams.
Condition:
Extremely fine. Scarce.
