CELTIC - GAUL - CONTINENTAL 'NORTH THAMES PROTOTYPE' - QUARTER STARTER

C. 1st century BC. Continental origin 'North Thames' Type. Obv: wreath and crescents. Rev: horse right with horned serpent above, double crescent as sideways S below and pellet in circle connected to chest of horse by zigzag line in front. 1.39 grams. Very fine.

Footnotes
This type apparently the prototype for the British 'North Thames' type, as can be seen by comapring with V.228.
