CHINESE CERAMIC BLUE-GLAZED PROCESSIONAL FIGURE GROUP
MING DYNASTY, 1368-1644 AD
12 1/4" (8.4 kg total, height of rider: 31 cm).

A mixed processional group of figurines from a miniature procession comprising: two horsemen on rectangular bases in riding coats, each holding a blue-glazed vessel to his chest, the heads separate castings; twelve blue-glazed cloaked standing figures each holding an animal representing the twelve signs of the zodiac. [14]

PROVENANCE:
From an old Spanish collection; acquired before 1990.
