Description:
1194-1205 AD. Class 4b Short Cross Penny. Obv: facing bust with extra small hair curl each side, sceptre dividing hENRICVS / EX legend (with missing R from REX). Rev: short voided cross with +DAVLE.ON.EVE legend for the moneyer Davi at York. The spelling of the moneyer name unusual and resulting from the letters DAV being cut into the die over NICO of NICOLE with the letter A of consequent unusual form. A rare and interesting altered die.

Measurements:
1.35 grams.
