Description:
Circa 14th century AD. A heavy, silver-gilt finger ring with D-section hoop, its outer surfaces with incised and punched diamond pattern.

Measurements:
Internally 19mm; 7.82 grams.

Condition:
Fine, with considerable gilding remaining.

Provenance:
Found Isle of Thanet, 1987 (Treasure Act reference 2004 T186b).

Comments notes:
As with the Anglo-Saxon silver gilt brooch earlier in this sale, this ring was found in about 1987, reported to the local Coroner under the former Treasure Trove procedures and then returned to the finder. The BM instigated an enquiry in 2004 and it was subsequently again returned to the finder.
