EGYPTIAN GILDED WOODEN FEMALE SARCOPHAGUS MASK
Ptolemaic Period, 3rd-1st century BC

A painted wood and gesso female sarcophagus mask with gilded face; the eyes and eyebrows outlined in blue paint; the headdress with a bandeau of stylised lotus flowers below a vertically striped red and green covering. 1 kg, 22 cm (8 3/4"). Fair condition.

Provenance
Property of a Lady; acquired in the late 1970s on the London art market.
