A silver-gilt pendant in the form of a roundel with filigree decoration of two birds with wings outspread in a field of scrolling plant motifs and rosettes inlaid with black and green enamel; openwork roundel to the base with equal-armed cross with rosette to the centre, whole with black and green enamel; large tear-drop boss to the top with diamond-shape inlaid in black enamel; two bosses to side of cross set with red glass cabochons; four silver pendants hanging to the bottom; to the reverse engraved scrolling plant motif and with inscription running horizontally across the centre. 59 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). Fine condition.
Property of a Hertfordshire gentleman; an old family heirloom, acquired by descent.
