A hollow-formed gold discoid plaque with outer ring of rectangular cells each set with a cabochon garnet, central rosette of larger similar stones with triangular cabochons to the spandrels; rear stud in knotted configuration; probably Deccan workmanship. 4.46 grams, 18mm (3/4"). Very fine condition.
From the Knee family collection; acquired by Win Crockett, the current owner's mother, part of her jewellery collection formed in the 1970s-1990s; thence by decent 2005.
