ROMAN MINERVA STATUE
1st-2nd century AD

A marble statue of Minerva standing on a rectangular base with pillar to the rear, wearing a peplos gathered at each shoulder with a disc brooch, helmet to the head, shield beside the left leg, right arm raised. 9.6 kg, 53cm (20 3/4"). Fine condition, right hand absent.

Provenance
Property of a Cheltenham collector; previously in a Gloucestershire, UK, collection; acquired in the early 1990s.
