Dated 1720 AD. Portuguese Brazil. Bahia mint. Obv: crowned shield of arms with value 4000 to left and IOANNES V D G PORT ET ALG REX legend. Rev: cross with Bs in angles with date 1720 above and IN HOC SIGNO VINCES legend. Friedberg Brazil, 30; Gomes 35.07; Krause Brazil, KM# 106. 10.60 grams.

Condition: Near extremely fine, with slight scuffing and slight bend to flan. Much lustre.

Provenance: Ex DNW Sale, 14th March 2007, lot 2281 (realised £340 + premium).
