Circa 3rd century AD. A large example of the type, with plain bow of trapezoidal section, the foot embellished with four pairs of scroll ornaments; a rare item.

Measurements:
108mm long.

Condition:
Fine, with slight loss to catchplate. An old repaired break at base of bow.
