Description:
Frugi. 90 BC. Obv: head of Apollo right with XXVIII behind. Rev: naked horseman galloping to right, holding palm-branch with XXXXV above, L.PISO FRVGI, RA monogram below. A rare combination of numerals on obverse and reverse.

Measurements:
Silver, 3.79 grams, 18.47 mm.

Condition:
Very fine-good very fine; rare.

Comments notes:
This complex issue represents a principle war-coinage of the Romans during the conflict with the Marsic Confederation. The control-marks are those of legions and consist of letters, numerals and symbols on both the obverse and reverse.
