ROMAN - SILVER CROSSBOW BROOCH AND BRONZE FIGURAL MOUNT

Circa 2nd century AD. A silver crossbow brooch with conical terminals and engraved catchplate front; WITH: a bronze mount in the form of a draped female head with well modelled facial details. Brooch 60mm, 23 grams. Mount 42mm, 35 grams. Fine. The brooch lacking the pin but scarce.
