Description:
2nd century AD. A finely crafted dress/hair pin, its square shank twisted and fluted, tapering to a circular section point; the terminal in the form of a gilded standing eagle upon a circular column base of two tiers.

Measurements:
12 grams, 140 mm.

Condition:
Extremely fine. Very rare and high status.

Provenance:
Ex Coombe collection.
