Description:
9th-11th century AD. A substantial copper-alloy torc or neck-ring; expanding from the plain central section (about 7mm dia.) to the two tightly twisted decorative zones (about 11mm dia.); the finials slightly clubbed and cruciform in section; the ends overlapping by about 13cm.
Measurements:
450 grams, 210 mm (8.25 inches).
Condition:
Fine, complete and with an original untouched patination.
Provenance:
From an old private collection formed in the 1960's.
